The MET GALA is a yearly fundraising event that happens on the first Monday of May. The event kicks off the Costume's Institute's new exhibitions and every year, there is a theme that all attendees must honor in their dressing and fashion. 2018's theme "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination", did not disappoint as celebrities came out in full force with their interpretations of this theme.
While the women did their thing and slayed with their outfits, a few notable men also knocked it out of the park. Of course, the ones we loved absolutely killed it pairing their outfits with Velvet Slippers. Here are our top 5 picks for the night;
CHADWICK BOSEMAN, the leading actor from Black Panther. Chadwick takes us to church in his all white Versace ensemble, paired with his Gold Christian Louboutin slippers.
MIGOS does not disappoint either pairing their Versace suits with Velvet Slippers for a dapper and Elegant look. A similar pair of slippers, the Milan Slipper in Black can be found in our store, if you ever want to recreate the look!
SHAUN WHITE nails this look by pairing his outfit with an all Black Velvet Slipper
CAM NEWTON also pairs his flamboyant and colorful outfit with a toned down pair of Black Velvet Slippers with some pale gold dustings at the toe. While DARA does not have this exact slipper, we do have a black slipper with pale gold adornings - the Naples Slipper in Black Paisley, check it out.
NICK JONAS keeps it very simple here in a dark suit, paired with a Black Velvet Slippers. A very clean and monochrome look, yet still classy! The outfit could have used a little bit of pop, and we would have gone with our Milan Slipper in Black 100 Emoji to add some extra flavor.
CHRISTIAN COMBS rocks it in this entire Dolce & Gabbana getup complete with ornate detailing on the suit and slippers. He finishes it off with a crown. All hail King Combs!
DARA offers these slippers and other unique options at our online store. Check out our entire collection of Men's Velvet Slippers and grab a pair to highlight your outfit at your next event or party. They won't cost you $500 a pair either!
